Enigmatic experimental producer Bastian Benjamin has finally revealed his unique LP, Two Truths via the Passage imprint. Ahead of the album release, fans were treated to the release of ‘Concrete’ (accompanied by a jaw-dropping self-directed music video) as well as ‘Confrontation’ and ‘Threshold’. As soon as we saw ‘Concrete’, we jumped at a chance to interview the IDM producer (you can read the full interview here) and not long after this, Made In Shoreditch hosted their own interview with the young producer. It was here we received our first hint of the song, ‘I Have Feelings Too’ which, after finally having a chance to hear it, stands above expectations.
“Telling stories through an album based on instrumental electronic music was always a sort of big dream for me. And last year I thought; “why not make an album right now?’. So that’s what I did. “Two Truths” describes the story of a person who transforms from one philosophy of life to another. Or rather “a journey between two truths”. Bastian Benjamin tells us about the inspiration for the album.
As the listener travels the Two Truths of Bastian Benjamin, they are treated to a mixture of driving basslines, mind-bending concepts as well as the deep emotions that are felt throughout the album. If we were to suggest you start anywhere, ‘I Have Feelings Too’ would be our first choice but really, any track you pick will take you down a rabbit hole of experimentation and self-discovery.
